A warm welcome in City Theatre (Belvárosi Színház), in the wonderful new concert hall of Budapest. I am delighted that you could attend our performances.

It has been my intention all my life to promote the genre of operetta; this is why I have established Interoperett Ltd. This event, which has been part of Budapest’s musical scene since 1990, enjoys a reputation as an entertaining event of high standard ever since its interception.

In this programme I have sought to present an overview of the distinctive characteristics of the classical Hungarian and Austrian operetta. Our aim is to provide the tourists arriving to Hungary with an unforgettable experience.

During the past 15 years we gave over 100 concerts each year in Pesti Vigadó between April and October. Since March 2005, the evergreen melodies of Lehár, Ábrahám and Strauss can be heard starting at 20:30 in our new theatre with the participation of the Budapest Lehár Orchestra, the Interoperett Dancegroup and celebrated artists of the Hungarian opera and operetta.

Our artists will provide you with an experience available nowhere else, only in Budapest.
